Rashi Foundation

About the Foundation

The Rashi Foundation is one of the largest and most influential philanthropic organizations in Israel, dedicated to reducing social gaps and promoting equal opportunities and social mobility among children, youth, and young adults — regardless of their starting point.

The foundation works to strengthen Israeli society by creating support networks for vulnerable populations in the geographic and social periphery, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with local authorities.

Core Activities

The Rashi Foundation focuses its work in three main areas:

  • Strengthening Community Resilience in the Periphery
Enhancing the capacity of local authorities to provide systemic responses to crises — at the individual, family, and community levels.
  • Educational and Emotional Frameworks for Children and Youth
Building support infrastructures to address educational and emotional gaps that have deepened due to social and security crises.
  • Promoting Youth Employment
Developing employment opportunities as a driver for revitalizing the local economy and encouraging residents to return to the southern and northern regions.

The foundation operates through cross-sector partnerships — public, philanthropic, and business — systematically measuring project effectiveness and embedding them as long-term, scalable governmental interventions.

Joint Projects:

  • The Business Hub – Kiryat Shmona and Eastern Galilee
A collaboration between Beyahad Foundation, The Eastern Galilee Cluster, Kiryat Shmona Municipality, and the Rashi Foundation.
  • STEM Ecosystem — From Kindergarten to Employment, Kiryat Shmona
A joint initiative of Beyahad Foundation, Kiryat Shmona Municipality, Tel-Hai College, and the Rashi Foundation.
