About the Institute
MIGAL – The Galilee Research Institute is one of Israel’s leading applied research centers, operating from Kiryat Shmona.
As of April 2025, MIGAL became a wholly owned subsidiary of Tel-Hai Academic College, serving as the applied research arm of the new University of the Galilee, set to be established in 2026.
The institute operates under the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, employing over 300 multidisciplinary researchers, including more than 90 Ph.D. holders, in fields such as life sciences, agriculture, environment, biotechnology, and sustainable systems.
