Established in 1954, the Galilee Development Company operates in three main areas:
- Initiation, management, and operation of factories and companies in the Upper Galilee region
- Joint procurement services
- Financial services for its owners
As a regional organization and one of the largest employers in the Upper Galilee, the company’s mission is to drive economic, business, and agricultural development that generates profits for its owners, provides support when needed, and serves the well-being of the regional community.
In addition, Galilee Development is continuously engaged in promoting and encouraging innovation, research, and knowledge-based industries across the Galilee — with the goal of advancing the agricultural sector and addressing the challenges it faces.
Main Activities
Upper Galilee Kibbutzim
A regional financial institution providing development and financing loans for members and affiliated entities.
Its activities include offering credit for ongoing operations, investments, and growth.
The corporation maintains strong equity and liquidity.
Upper Galilee Industries
The regional procurement and trade corporation that consolidates purchasing activities across multiple sectors in the region.
Galilee Development Cooperative and the Galilee Development Company (together referred to as “Galilee Development”)
Serve as the organization’s management, development, and investment arm — holding and managing key regional enterprises in the Upper Galilee, with a combined annual turnover of approximately 1.8 billion NIS.
The regional industries in the Upper Galilee have long been among the area’s largest employers, currently providing jobs for over 1,000 employees across various operations.
Initially focused on agriculture and agricultural processing, the corporation has expanded over the years into science, information systems, energy, nursing services, and leasing.
The company’s headquarters are located in Kiryat Shmona, with its plants and subsidiaries spread throughout the Upper Galilee.
